Vioxx

In 2004, Merck withdrew the pain-relief drug VIOXX from the market because studies associated usage of VIOXX with increased risks of strokes, heart attacks, and blood clots.

Previously, doctors had commonly prescribed VIOXX because it offered advantages over traditional NSAIDs.  However, the serious, undisclosed side effects that VIOXX posed outweighed any benefit that VIOXX and other COX-2 inhibitors offered.

The attorneys at McGartland & Borchardt are currently litigating nationwide on behalf of clients who were afflicted with blood clots or suffered strokes or heart attacks after taking COX-2 inhibitors, such as VIOXX, Bextra or Celebrex.

If you or a loved one have taken one of these drugs and suffered a stroke, heart attack, or blood clot, please call McGartland & Borchardt, LLP at 817-332-9300 or contact us online for a free consultation to discuss your legal options.
